Java Arch' from ASO.
This is so complex, I don't know where to start.
Green, lightly mentholic, spices and cloves, whiffs of incense but not overpoweringly incensey (*cough Aroha Kyaku*).
Then florals come up from behind and kick in. Will see where it lands, but I have a hunch this will be a solid hum of resin in another few hours.
Hints of Zamarad 2 from Habz. This is that oil, but cranked up to 11.

I spent three months effectively oud-free, and now that I'm back I worry my nose may have trouble making sense of things. Need to reset all my baselines...

The Oud Lab Maharaja

Slowly learning to appreciate this oil more and more.

Starts off with a more traditional Hindi aroma, intense leather, hay, spices, then slowly transitioning into a cleaner new gen clean Hindi vibes. Smooth, velvety leather, with some spices, a bit of creamy sweetness, without any off putting notes while still having a 'body' to the scent.

Reading that it was distilled from actual chips from Nagaland region, I burned some Nagaland chips from Azman, and boom! I could smell clearly the similar notes between the oud that is burning, and the notes from the oil on my hand. Amazing!

Continuing my Oudh exploration....today @Aroma Sublime Papua Elixir.
Not sure what a Papua Oudh should have in it's profile.....
But this is like firstly entering a damp mossy forest...gives way to some sweet notes (Don't know which ones)
Also get a scent similar to when splitting logs with an axe......damp logs... seems like an earthy early morning dew scent....and have only used a small dab as this one eighteen months a go caused me itchy irritation to my skin...so again threading wearily....

@EJayB - OleFaktory review:

1st Thai - powdery red and purple fruits, minty and bitter, dry and smooth wood opening. Reminiscent of many Vietnamese oils I've smelled and has some of the honeyed bitter-sweetness I've smelled before in aa kham lao. Unique middle section reminds of crushed red wine grapes - with the bitter grape skin note. Props to ed for this squeeze bc so far every oil I've tried from him is coming out super clean and seems to always be excellent representations of the region and wood. With age, this will develop some extra umph on the mid and base side for sure. The complexity and execution on this makes it hard to believe it's from cultivated wood.

Sprays:

Cali-Fresh: citrus, pine, sage, rosemary, dry pine needles, frankincense. For those who have gotten used to sprays from say ensar where they are so loaded with florals and other french perfume smelling distractions, these sprays are a nice change of pace. These aren't chypres or traditionally structured perfumes, but rather well blended, natural smelling, simple, yet powerful scents, for those who don't want or need all the extra noise.

Two Cents, Two Ways:

Not sure what's in this exactly but I love it. Here's what I get - instant rush of frankincense, musk, bergamot, oud, and lavender. @EJayB - curious what is actually in this one? I'll for sure be wearing both of these all summer as they are light and citrus forward and very approachable.

Canna-musk: this is a cannabis bomb, total citrus, diesel, musk. Keep in mind though, this doesn't smell like smoked cannabis but rather what you'd expect to smell when sticking your head in a jar of that zaza. Blended with a standout musk thats not shy, I think all cannabis lovers will dig this one!

Hello dear Ouddict 🙂

Today I tried some oud oils from Hikayat Fragrance…

I swiped :
Seri Karas
Hutan Utara
Trat Basic

Seri Karas is very nice Malay oil like Hutan Hijau from the oud lab or even Zamarad 2 from Habz!
But this oil is more clean, sharper !
More fizzy, more vaporous less incensy …it remind me Mulia and Sik from AA with the body of Zamarad 2 …
Fizzy lemony cola with green jungle vibe , muskiness and brightness !
I can believe Taha cooked it ! Same buzzing opening !
It’s a lovely oil at a very good price !
Different to Hutan Hijau and Zamarad 2 but same vein!

Hutan Utara is a Malay oil made for an attar … But it’s a marvelous oud oil in itself !!
I wouldn’t using this quality oil in any Attars…
It’s a wonderful oil that remind me AA Sik, with shadow of Mahkota or Malaya 2…
It’s a serious oil ! With a sweet Lemony notes !
I really love this oil even more than Sik from Taha !
The very bad thing is this oil isn’t available cuz the artist will using it in an Attar that I will buy for sure ^^

Trat Basic is a very very nice Thai oil at crazy price !!!
I can believe it’s from Agar Aura or Jinkoh store in terms of « Cleanliness »
It’s pure new gen Thai oil without any hint of barn !! Nothing !
We have here a Berries Jam with add sugar and woodiness !! You can imagine the shadow of JS Cambodi essenza and AA Trang or AA Pursat 4k !
Very affordable oil in all terms …
Easy to like it as it’s soo clean and cray price … it’s probably the best Bang for buck I smelled About a Thai oil …

Honestly I am impressed by these oils in their price range …

I wish you all a very Gooud Swipe Of the Day 🙂

Jinkoh Store - Royal Mamberano

Need more time with this oil.
First impression: a mix of very clean papua laced with the sort of old chinese herbal shop vibe. The opening was sweeter than your usual papua.
all in all, very grounding and anchoring :handok:

@Mario P.
There's something with this oil man. Lovely and very unique Papuan profile! amazing job

Pursat Maliki - Habzoud

Uncorking this oil is like sipping fruit punch that's been spiked by someone with a wicked grin and a taste for overproof rum.

The nose is hit with a powerful and nostalgic citrus camphor note which I've not encountered in oud before. Turning to a higher authority (my wife), I was immediately informed "lemon verbena, a green note and some other things in there". Verbena is citral heavy and a relative of lemon myrtle, a wildflower that grew in the garden in my childhood.

The "other things" are easily identifiable as the golden/caramel/chocolate/cream signature of Cambodian oud. There a hint of vegetal note that is a bit too bitter for my taste, almost like puncture vine (tribulus terrestris) though this might just be childhood memories of bubbling pots filled with caltrops and pitch black liquids acting up.

Right now, the notes of Pursat Maliki are like the unruly cacophony of a bazaar, bouncing off each other with abandon. This is a good and very interesting oil now, and with a few more years could become truly exceptional.

AA King K Nam. Spring in a bottle and definitely not a powerhouse. I liken it to contemplating a miniature in some Austrian curiosity cabinet. Everything is small and dainty and enameled in green and white and set in gold and rock crystal. As it rests, glints of kyara peek through.

AA Mulia. I applied this hours before the KKN, to give it a fighting chance. It is one of Taha’s more limp yet limpid distillations. Pure, crystalline, sheer but lacking the sheer oomph and weirdness of a predecessor like Ayu.

I think some of you people are part time poets..
The scent profiles and explanatory words used to describe them have me getting a good idea as to what some of you are smelling from the bottle.
But my literature vocabulary needs to be extended along with my Oudh collection....🤔

Hello Ouddicts 🙂

Today is special as I swiped amazing oils ^^

Olefaktory Very Berry Thaï Cherry 🍒
The Oud Lab Kanbi Koh

VBTC is unbelievable… from plantation…No way !
The opening of this oil is spectacular !
I get strong powdery resinous almond and berries almost like King K Nam opening !! Wouah
The creamy bitterness à la AA Kham lao with Hay and honey is addicting !
After few minutes or so, à juicy Cherry note coming in front of me and saying
« What? Don’t you ever smelled Cherry before » ^^ but here it’s Oud oil what we are talking about so what the F… !

To be honest it’s a very clean new gen Thai oil and I never smelled something better than this Before !
Full clean new gen without any Barn of something else than clean !
The distillation was made perfectly !
I could believe that is from Taha really !
In terms of top notes , cleanliness, mind buzzing … it’s one of the closest oil to Agar Aura oils I smelled !
It’s better than Kham Lao top notes IMHO … need to see the dry down …
I am really really impressed by this oil from Ejay…
The only Thai oils I tried was old traditional oils like Lao Xiang or Lao Shan… but it’s not comparable as it’s too much different !
VBTC is bright ! Sharp ! And the opening is insane !
Ejay you are an Artist !

Now TOL Kanbi Koh … what can I say…
😱
I took my time to understand this HUGE OIL…
Don’t you remember when you was young… sweet candy carnival smell ? 🍭, marshmallow creamy sugary pinky cotton candy !
These notes are the breath you getting in your face with Kanbi Koh !
Top notes are here subtle but you can’t miss it !
Fabulous vaporous steam of sweet resinous, Kinamic vanilla licorice and cinnamon coming up to your nose and the feeling is phenomenal !
This oil remind me Emperor Guan Yu from Jinkoh store , with some different faces !
It’s stronger and the top notes are just unbelievable !
The evolving is dangerous and falling in Pure Yellow kinam warming at low temp … it’s just unbelievable !
How an oil can be sooo satisfying !
It’s musky and pheromonal ! Gourmand !
I would like to eat this vanilla cake !
In my honest opinion, this oil is the most Kinamic oil I have ever experienced with emperor Guan Yu and Emperor of China !

I would say it’s stronger than EGY first hour, where EGY need 1 hour to sharing her power!
Kanbi Koh has better top notes … but less clear and clean than Emperor of China and Emperor Of Kedah !
It’s between EGY , EOC , and EOK
I could believe it’s from Marius ^^
Kanbi Koh is a real Cloud of kinam !

I never experienced something as crazy in terms of vapor !!!

Small swipe in my beard and let’s go for all the day until I wake up I smell it in my pillow !
I get also some touch of Emperor of Kedah balsamic sweetness and purple flower with the richest resinous oudiness quality I smelled !!!

The thing is … I alerady smelled something lightly similar in few beautiful oils by short vapor during the dry down of old traditional oils … but Kanbi Koh is Full of this scent that I was looking for since longtime !

Maybe some Ouddict loved Lao Shan or Lao Xiang because of the full spectrum of these oils …
Kanbi Koh is also full spectrum !!!
Since top notes to base note … the dry down is quite similar to the opening… the evolving is more about subtle notes … don’t expect lots of evolving but a subtle evolving of your kinam sliver in the heater since 70 degrees to 120 degrees.
The most beautiful wild Thai Oil I have experienced in my life !

It’s thick , in terms of viscosity but also in terms of smell ! It’s deep sooo deep ! You can’t touch bottom !

Subhanallah ! This oil is exactly what I am looking for in my Oud journey

Two Thai oils , Two different ways… new gen or Traditional thick oil …
Kanbi Koh is unreal and Mind Blowing
Very Berry Thai Cherry is really mind buzzing

I wish you all a very Gooud swipe of the Day 🙂
