Swiped an unreleased oil from Habzoud
marked “unreleased oil”.

Swiping this viscous oil blindly I get a milk fat vibe mingling amongst the top note vapors which initially reveal oudy resin and a light touch of fruit. That’s just a brief opening vibe. The volatility continues to mask the flavors underneath for a while, then gives way to some candy, then bitterness and almond and a touch of powder. There’s also an oudy twang.

It performs like a young oil, sharing it’s profile late in the swipe, a chord, not just notes, but I have difficulty determining the region, and if I had to guess, my first choice would be Cambodian, then Borneo, then Vietnamese.

I got some of this too, I guessed Malaysian. There's a subtle graphite note I have noticed before...
Yes it seems young but it is very colourful already, will be interesting to see how it evolves.

Ouds of the day:
Olefaktory - Cultivated Kinam 2022
Habzoud - Aljanah 3

RPP's 2018 Ngapali.
This traditionally distilled(in Deg and Bapkah) Burmese oil has a nice complexity.

smelling from the skin, the first thing that comes to my mind is funky, fermented natto.
it was a smokey campfire smell that hit my nose first when this oil was a little more fresh.
a few minutes later, kaleidoscopic florals and fruits explode out.
now, these floral and fruits are similar to that of Khao Yai's. and that's interesting.

the opening can be a bit off-putting to someone whos not familiar with this kind of fermented smell.
but the following florals are worth overcoming that barrier, if that is a barrier.

Agarwood Indonesia - Beccariana

A very clean, quiet, and meditative oil which smells simple from the bottle but reveals a world of detail after a few minutes on skin. Feels like I'm in a specific place, out in nature. The profile is weighted towards middle and top notes but very cool. Air, sky and undergrowth.

ScentSalim's 100yo Kalikassi.
Very leathery opening. Wet hay notes. Interestingly I had irritation to this when first bought over two years ago. But I apply a non scented oil base to my wrist before Oudh is applied.
This has reduced irritation to very mild.
What was interesting was I woke during the night to the scent of some kind of fruit...🤷
Very long lasting.

So just received Purple kinam from @language scent.
This is an Ensar Oil, Malaysian from 2011.
Have applied a small dot and it has an initial pristine scent from the vial. Very clean oil, not to dissimilar from some of Tasha's distillations.
26'C here, so I shall see how it evolves with the heat....

Nha Trang ltd is an amazing oil. I’m grateful I was able to obtain some from @language scent . The creamy wood base is out of this world. Is this common in other oils from Vietnam or just high grade ones? I have very little experience with Vietnamese oils
bro get in touch with Marius from Jinko store he has an even better Vietnamese oil I have heard from multiple people who have tried both say that it is even better!
