Habz Cambodi Smoke

This one crept up on me. Had the sample for a long time and it aged really well. Got a bottle. It has very distinct stages, very smoky at first, then gradually more of the Cambodi wood comes out, lightly fruity with dry cacao notes then maybe three hours in, I get gorgeous cinnamon cream honey kinamic notes. the smoke is almost gone but hangs around the edges to good effect. Very non-linear.

Craft oud - Tuli
Opens with white florals - juhi/jasmine, creamy, bitter. Hints of orange peel, spices, red florals and leather, like some great Chinese ouds. Warm sunshine and gourmand tartness like berries, tamarind. Finishes sweet. Beautiful !!

No barn or funk. Clean, very good quality. Not very viscous, but lasted 4-5 hours on my skin on a hot day.

I’ve sampled saba jinkoh from Al hashimi and you can tell these are both from the same region due to the similar underlying “oudiness”. But that is where the similarities end.

This oil is bright and fresh and milky sweet. As soon as I twisted open the cap I could tell this was something special.

I’m definitely excited to see how this develops. As it stands I think this is an oil that anyone would be proud to have in their collection.

Alhindoud Olde Trat

I'm not crazy about the Thai woods i've tried so far but...this one is real good. It has depth. Kicks off with a little bit of barn that only lasts five minutes or so. I didn't even put it in my notes the first time i tried it. Just a little puff of sour and hair that then blends really nicely into the scent of strawberry jam and old furniture and peppery resin. The sweetness is offset by the sour, spicy and bitter so it is never cloying.

Craft oud - Meghalaya
Bitter neem to raw mango top, sharp acrid fruity notes, leather, incense, tartness. Yellow hues, sunshine. Tamarind chutney with huge doze of leather and a bit of jaggery sweetness of oud chips on low heat. Stays over 7 hours. Runny oil, interesting to see how it ages losing it's top
