Lucky oud - Hind classique

Complex one, these are just my initial impressions. Slight bitterness that's runs through top and mid. Musty dark timber room, shades of Cambodian fruit, flashes of musk/civet, heavy on the leather. Red tartness, brief spices and creaminess, more leather. White florals, descending into something like a clean distillation later. Final sweetness is truly Hindi.

It's a deep red all the way, except for a short lived green top. This is why Hindi is my favourite profile, you get everything and then some more

super super thick blend (I think - not a codistill?) of Koh Kong & Trat oils. I've just finished up the sample that I got in late 2018 in the Vegas oud fayre.
I'm a little run down so my sense of smell isn't too sharp (not that it usually is!)
Decent oil, fruity and jammy. I couldn't get all the oil out onto a toothpick as it's too thick and stuck to the bottle.

I've been wearing oud all week and am getting this feeling that it's not for me anymore. I just ..ugh, I dunno. I'm always "wearing" different oils during the working week but very rarely smell where I swipe, and the longevity seems to have absolutely dropped on my skin as of late - seem to get 4hrs max from any given oil. Just seems a bit pointless overall.
It's interesting but I don't think the price justifies the experience anymore,

Thanks this oil is ghazal/borneo infused into Pursat called Sabah Khmer a Sabah and Pursat co-distillation great oil!
So indeed there is Ghazal, that is one of my unforgettable oil from your house. I glad wasn't wrong when it reminded me of Ghazal.

What is very interesting is that Taj Mahal opens Hindi, but mid way turns like Boreneo. That is very surprising to me. Is there any Borneo in Taj Malah too.

And will i be wrong to think there is a smokeiness in Taj Malah that I have smelled before. Altawas or Cambodi Smoke, somewhere I feel.

@Sproaty
Reading about the young Scottish cyclist who died in his sleep last Monday puts things in perspective.
One minute he is winning BMX Championship race, giving an interview, going to bed and never waking up again.
Life is fleeting.

As humans we go through these phases of hot and cold association/attraction with things including other humans, it is like a wave 🌊 with peaks and troughs, and it is normal. It is also important to recognise and acknowledge so we can regulate our behaviour around them. Otherwise if we take the boom or bust approach we will be doing our growth a disservice. Meaning every time we are at the trough of the wave with something, then we empty the cupboards, and when we are at the peak we fill the cupboards back up, will not only financially exhaust us but also emotionally.

What you are experiencing is just normal human behaviour, like the seasons around us. Fragrant days. 🙂

Sproats if only you were within swiping distance I'd nail you with tiniest hair pin prick of The Oud Lab's mysterious sublime Cambodi Musk. I've never come close to an oil with such mind blowing OOMPH. It would blow your socks off, or make you suddenly entirely hairless . Hope you are ok. Your energy seems low. Take care. Al Shareef is so right about the seasons we go thru. Sending warm aloha ~
