Nice collection you got there. Have you tried the aged Thia? Curious about that one.

Sulaym had some sort of flash sale and I am a fool with no self-control, so naturally I bought 2.5g of something I know virtually nothing about, Imperial Maroke (https://sulaym.co.uk/products/imperial-maroke).

Anyway, what's the deal with Papuan oud? According to this (https://www.ensaroud.com/blog/maroke-a-personal-history/) Maroke is a bit of a mixed bag in terms of reception: the region has apparently produced a small number of some of the finest oud specimens known to man, and a large amount of complete crap stemming from oud producers pulling rotted trees out of swamps and making disgusting swamp slop. Seems like a lot of the folks in this thread had similarly mixed experiences (https://www.ouddict.com/threads/papua-merauke-maroke-gyrinops-or-filaria.669/)

So what am I in for? Foul motor oil swamp slop that was distilled at way too high of a temperature? Or something truly mindblowing? I've loved everything I've bought from Sulaym so far, so I am optimistic, but I'll reserve my judgement until I've experienced it firsthand.
There was only one bottle available which we found in the vault. We must have and around 10 messages afterwards asking if there is anymore! @Ahmaoud has given a really good explanation of the profiles that come from this region. Imperial Maroke is dark, intense, earth and soil, green jungle. Has a beautiful dry down with incense note and really long lasting. Would make a perfect musk maceration!

Cool 😎. I'm glad I got one of the last ones. Arrives tomorrow and I can't wait to try. Cheers~

Oh, Hojari frankincense. Never smelled it before. How is it different than, say, Frankincense, Oman, if you know it. Just curious.
Oman has several grades and varieties of Frankincense, Hojari is considered the top grade, free from bark and insects and I believe its the first harvest, subsequent harvest result in red Frankincense, and then finally black. Though it should be remembered that even in Hojari the size and clarity of the resin tears will result in higher grades, costing more.

Btw this is essential oil of that not the actual resins if I'm not mistaken

@Ahmaoud thanks for the lesson. I just buy what sounds good and based on reviews. Hence, I have a lot of non-perfumery materials that would do well in aromatherapy but not as a fragrance.

holy crap, that's a lot of oils. Any stand out? Any to stay away from? I'm thinking about buying some.
Gentle yonder, blissful journey and kingly charisma were nice as well as I think Flair 05, the latter more floral kinamic.
I only tried maybe 6 of them so far.
The CO2 oils were pretty faint compared to the CO2 oils of Yuzhi. Not necessarily bad or unusable, I’m sure an experienced perfumer can incorporate them into blends nicely.

nice, thank you very much. I asked them about Flair 05, as your description makes the most sense to me.

Seriously, impressed with @Al Hashimi

Let me start here Fiet Atiq… wow wow wow. I feel like I’m in a Time Machine - honestly, feel like it’s nostalgia for something I never experienced before at least in this life. I don’t think that really does it justice but…

There will be reviews coming as I have time. Just wanted to post that the eagle has landed so to speak.

Thank you, brother Nadeem!!!!
