Zamrad II from Habzoud again. Benchmark oud - rich, multifaceted, aroma is a little different every time I smell it. Not an off note to be found. Rich and savory/saturated slightly creamy and spicy opening, solid throaty presence in the mid notes. Beautiful dry down with rich resinous presence. This really smells like something that would sell for 3x the price I paid. I actually got the oil after a general recommendation from EJayb that Habz is unusually generous with his pricing and always stocks top shelf oil, my experience matches his.

Thanks for your kind words, if you enjoy the Zamarad 2 you will deffo enjoy Gaharu Uno, Raja Hijau and another new Borneo distillation which are higher quality raw material. Zamarad 2 is a very underated oil for 200$ you wont find a oil like this anywhere!

Borneo distillation?!?👀

Fushigi's Brunei Kyara/Kyere.

Fantastical oil, amazing. Doesnt last long in the heart (maybe 2-3 hours) but even the dry down is very impressive. I would get into detail more but I just can't, it is an oil I need to sit with and really get to know in order to do a real write up. Although it does start (most of the time, sometimes its a little different or weaker) with this thick vapours, minty, gasoline smell that really hits the back of your throat with mintiness (exactly the same way as Wild Kyara), very resinous, and high quality incense notes, then goes into the heart where it is full of fruits of all colours, but i detect red quite a lot, but also purple and yellow, and TONS of floral activity. Then kinamic golden cream vanilla note, with this high quality woody smell, the dry down seems to change wear to wear, but usually smells like wet wood, and kinamic creaminess.

A lovely oil, just wanted to share what I was wearing, I have finally met my match to something that is utterly indescribable even for a first impression lmao.

This is a VERY kinamic oil with high psychoactivity, a little exciting, and a little numbing.

Yeah I would never have thought that was a $200 oil.

Had planned to swipe oud royale but my search for oud royale in my oud collection led me to the last few drops of Oud Mahmoud that was remaining in my bottle so I had to extract all that was left. I remember the last time I wore it was about a year ago. I accidentally dropped some on my leather recliner and I used my cap (black colored) to wipe it off. That cap kept my closet fragrant for months.
What a pristine oil this was (nothing left now, just and empty bottle) ….. oudy is what it is. Just what Oud is supposed to be. Forget colors, forget everything and just imagine Oud. Smooooooth wood. Reminds me of Oud Ahmed a little.
What a beautiful reflection of aquilaria. King !!!

Does Mahmoud remind you of the Purple Malay? I compared them side by side and the yare very similar. Ahmad goes in a different direction for me.
I agree, it's a great oil.

Am I the only guy here who has smelled Pursat Cheroot from Yusa? This is some really nice dark colored and scented multilayered heavy incensy oud. Different by far from the other Pursats that I have smelled - not all sugary and glazed, it has some tobacco and pine resin notes that stand out. Quite a bit more to this than I am used to encountering in a Thai oil. Would love to understand where these different facets come from.

Did you try any of his other offerings like Hainan, Nha Trang, Burma, Laos, Pursat, etc.??

glad that you liked it!
I just put a small dap and it is amazing.
I think it is not a loud oud oil, but a one that will make you happy with every wear.
waiting for your full review 👍🏻

@mesOUD - Qirose
@AlHindOud - Oud Qaysar

I know it’s not technically a neat oud oil, but I had to share my love for this distillation.

Swiped Qirose again first thing in the morning, falling in love more with every swipe. Opening with a herbal minty cooling hit from the green Kinam, backed up by a jammy sweet three dimensional rose. Slight medicinal iodine and leather smells, adding a unique twist to the rose. Sugary sweet white CK and rose hard candy as it dries down. There’s a lot going on here, a one of a kind distillation that will take many more swipes to become familiar with. Pure 10/10 for my tastes.

Later in the day I took another shot at trying to decipher what is going on with Oud Qaysar. Opening again with a pungent sour yogurt note, probably just due to the age of the oil. It’s an acrid sulfuric gassy affair once again, this time reminding me of crab shells. Like the interior of a crab fishing boat. A dry Borneo like spice in the background that mixes with the cheesy pungentness. I read other impressions on this and may have to agree that this kind of acrid crab and sulfur gas could be attributed to a Sumatran wood. This wearing today certainly is reminding me of that, possibly a Hindi/sumatra or Burmese/sumatra. Maybe even Borneo/sumatra. I wish I had more examples of these oils to compare this one too. I am going to swipe a legendary Sumatran oil here soon to see if this one shares a similar backbone.

ASO Shamaal this morning, refreshing oud. Perfect for the gloomy day we had here, cloudy followed by tons of rain. Honestly I'm upset I took so long to try this one out. Bloomed brilliantly on my skin, perfume-y in the best sense of the word, and cool and bracing but not in a camphoric manner, something more tamed, no better way to described it than simply mountain air! It was an absolute treat but then I had to check some things outside, got soaked in the rain, and post shower I could still sense it. Also made work very difficult because I literally could not keep my wrist from my nose ....

Later on in the day I wore some of Al Hashimi's Khao Koh, a spectacular specimen for cultivated oud. The light cooling top in this otherwise dense and heavy scent is so uplifting. I would have never guessed it'd be so wonderful in the hot and humid climate. What you get with this is an almost nose tingling cool spiciness, followed by a very clean, yet full and resinous Thai backbone. Buried underneath the jam-iness I'm starting to sense a bit green running through it, another subtlety I really love!
