Nha trang and papua from Fushigi.

Nha trang is close enough to what I recall from Nha trang LTD to be quite satisfactory. It’s probably not 100% the same since it was distilled earlier but for a fraction of the price, I can live with it.

NTLTD was not an oil that I fell in love with anyway which is why I sold my bottle of it awhile back.

Papua on the other hand, is a very clean, green maroke oil. Reminds a lot of Huang shang but cleaner, less patchouli and carrot seed notes. But still quite similar.

Also got in some new Ambon and “tarakan” woods that I need to try but that shall be for another thread 😊
how did you find the longevity of the nha trang oil?

Top 3 oud oils for me in my collection!!
Amazing ethereal clean, yellow floral, tropical and slightly aquatic opening. It melts down to a tropical fruity fresh mango scent while the vanillic borneo profile shines through it which in combination with the Tropical Mango fruit smells like a mango gelato in my hand, served in a cone of flowers.
Inhaling it for a longer time, the scent goes straight to my brain 🧠⚡️
Mango is my favorite fruit so it has to be one of my favorite oils 😋🥭
Does this one have that clove note Borneo Qi has ?

@YusaAromatics
Malay green and Shah Qinan

After testing both oils two days ago at the OUD IBENTO event they are still in my mind.

I was really impressed with the Malay Green and I wish I bought at least a sample. I love this kind of Malay profiles

And the Shah Qinann was probably one of the most interesting Hindi oils I have ever tested since brother @Obada kindly showed this one to me. Like he said this is a completely out of the box hindi oil, super clean almost fruity vanillic on my skin ??? but still with that Hindi dna in the background
I was revisiting Yusa Aromatics Malay Zamrud the other day it's a brilliant oil, if that's the same one, 2023 from Kedah. If you want something in the same scent profile but fizzier, floral and lighter in body I would recommend an upcoming Sulaym oil, Imperial Malay, with the most beautiful piercing florals. If however you want something less sweet, and less syrupy I would recommend Al Hashimi's Sumbawa, different to most oils from the region, there's no pepperiness here, and the floral facet is different to Imperial Malay. Honestly All three are excellent and you can't go wrong with any one of them!

Thank you to both brothers @Obada and @Ahmaoud for your suggestions.

After @Obada suggested Zamrad 2 I had to revisit this one since i had sample that was generously gifted to me with an order last year.

Top notch oil, smooth very round oil, but on my skin it leans more towords the green coniferous side.

Unfortunately these kind of profiles (green/coniferous) are not my favorite ones but everybody has a different taste wich makes this „hobby“ or „addiction“ so great.

I will hopefully try Sulayms Imperial Malay in the future since you made me want to try this one with your exceptional description as always 🤍

I applied a dab of Habz Maroke Qadeem yesterday. Brought a big smile to my face. I love maroke as much as any region but some maroke oils feel kind of "flat" somehow - there is this characteristic wet wood note that can be kind of dull, linear and simple if the oil lacks richness and depth.

This is the good kind of maroke - so much going on along with the mudcloth note. Tangy aged cola note, deep dark saturated resin note, smells mature, some hints of ambergris... scent of burbling resin on a coal. Just the right amount of bitter. Top shelf maroke it is safe to say.

Satkara, Sylhet @Al Hashimi

Dark, bittersweet, moist, pungent, are the words that come fast to describe the first few minutes. There's dark cacao, a twist of orange zest, crushed tea leaf, all these bittersweet notes coming forward as it progresses. Spent coffee grinds and "new" leather, lead to an impressively long dry-down of woudy leather with a touch of sweet grass

oriscent purple papua at the moment - this is like a more volatile fraction zesty maroke - steam distilled in steel I recall. Fuzzy bitter herbal like maroke Oud and goldenseal root somehow. Has started to develop a bit of that old maroke note to some degree but is quite different from the heavy dark maroke oils. A nice specimen, glad i have it. Is this what you all mean by purple-smelling ouds? it is in a brown Amber bottle with a polycone cap, so nothing to photograph.

Oriscent Royal Kinam No 1

A special day today so I decided to go with my most precious oil. It is not my favorite but next to Hyang Kang, objectively, it is my most treasured/precious oil. Simple yet so grounding in its aroma. I have tried a handful of younger Hong Kong oils from various vendors but once you smell the likes of RK and HK you can tell they are from a different time (the material used).

Royal Guallam by Oriescent
powdery silky in the beginning, honey floral red fruits in the heart and sweet woody drydown. it is a gorgeous red hue oil. one of my favorite for sure.

Emperor of China by Jinkoh Store
maybe the most kinamic oil ever, but not that interesting at least for me. overly sweet and fruity, can't see a good depth.

Mesoud Vietking today. This oil gets a little better every time I smell it, a beautiful kinamic crassna. Opens with some pungency as a new oil, but there is something uniquely nice in terms of that sweet saturated mellow resiny woodiness that surrounds the main opening notes. Starting to get a smooth vanillinish beauty i associate with the dry down of kinamic oils but it is present in the top and mid notes as well. I feel like this one is still in the process of maturing

A bit later now I am getting some very nice incense notes.

@mesOUD @YusaAromatics - Levent

4th impression.....still wow ! I'm in love with this oil.
You inspired me to also use a little dab of Levent

Today I'm getting a bitter scent, mixed with gasoline (reminds me of EO - Borneo 50k), rounded off with a delicious sweetness

Wearing it on skin is also a totally different experience compared to smelling from the vial

Totally different than my wear the other week, and it's amazing to see this transform each wear. I love this!

Prob better off asking someone else as I suck with descriptions lol but I gotchu.

Full bodied yet squeaky clean. Smoky , spicy , tobacco , coffee , chocolate/vanilla , mint , hint of citrus , bitter , old book

Thank you, I think you actually did a great job. Right to the point, easy to understand and wrap my head around!

How ‘dominant’ is the ‘old book’ component, would you say? I have a few oils that have some ‘library’ scent.
