You are right, dear Grega. Preference! In 2017, I loved this oil a lot. But now I am fed up with its linear and monotonous scent. It doesn't smell Oud to me anymore. It smells that much green and foresty to me I fear someday it might not become Khus:Roflmao::Roflmao::Roflmao:. But quality wise, it is exceptional.
I use it in making my personal blends.
Dear Rai. I put it on again and in rainy weather it does seem nicer. Last time I wore it was on a sunny day and found it unpleasant but today I don't find it to be
so. And the quality is obvious. There is a certain effect that it gives that is present in some of my favorite oils. Like in Yaqoot... It sure does smell foresty though. Khus indeed . Like a musty dark forest which I would love the smell of if being in an actual forest but it just feels a bit lifeless and you are right, monotonous - it being a swipe of oud on my wrists. But again preferences change and I might end up loving such a style of Oud/Khus in the future. Who knows how life can surprise you. 😀

Original green papua or the second one? I have the old one. It is one of the few oud oils that seemed to go bad over time. I ended up mixing it with alcohol to try to prevent its continued transformation.
Honestly I don't know as I got it in a blind oud kinda test. This one doesn't seem to be spoilt although there is a definite musty quality to it.

You’re a mad scientist over there bro lol. And much braver than me. At one point I thought about adding a few drops of an Assam to my Hainan 05, Because it has hints of that Hindi barnyard that poke through here and there, and I thought it be nice if the hints were a little stronger. But in the end, I was too afraid I would break something.

Swiped a Filaria blend

The main components are EO Maroke Sultan and FO Pa-Papua.

I smell coffee beans and dragon fruit😕
plus sheeeeeeeer oudiness.

Lovely :Inlove:

Green Papua is right up there at the top for me too, and I agree that Papuamantan wasn’t it. Seemed too thin whereas GP keeps on kicking for hours. Port Papua I felt was a close approximation of it though. I only bought a sample before it was gone but I use it as an alternate for GP in my rotation to keep my supply from depleting too quickly. So maybe keep an eye out for someone selling a bit of that if you’re getting low and need to replenish your Papua fix.
I have the port papua. 0.3 though. Is not GP. Is far prettier and a shade or two lighter green. Feminized to my nose.

Royal Kalakassi by Treasure Oud - hmm. Not feeling this too much

Some Ceylon sandalwood sent by Ish @ Royal Bengal Ouds, very nice, think it was a root distillation. I have tons of sandalwood oils from him and not bought any, he keeps sending tons with every purchase! :Roflmao::Roflmao::handfist:

The 1960 Kycam by Rising Phoenix - sooooo thick, it's hard to spread after dabbing a tiny dot of the oil. It's very sweet and a tad fruity.

Habz Oud - Zamarad. Lovely green smelling oud

Agar Aura - Purbakala - very nice and oudy. One thing though is I dislike these plastic sample vials that Taha uses - lots of the oil gets stuck to the corners before the vial 'dips' down into a cone at the bottom and it's tricky to scrape off. I've neglected tons of the AA samples I have as I had no way to apply them until I finally bought a ton of toothpicks!

Agree about the plastic sample vials

IO Nagaland Imperiale

I am still amazed at this distillation.
It’s like when you open the bottle, the genie comes out.

Nice oil!
Dear Oudamberlove, blend it in Musk maceration oil, Rose oil, and Saffron Sandal maceration oil. Naga's Hindi tone is very clean that turns the blend smooth. I tried IO's Al Mashriq, and then I prepared a blend on my own. If you have Al Mashriq, you can easily understand what ratio of the ingredients would suit your taste.
