[Ouddict.com] Oud of the Day

Today I have indulged in a few swipes of OUD MEITEI by Agarwood Assam ..... an incredible Hindi Oud oil (from Manipur) made from the woods of a 75 year old wild tree. I detect very little (if any) barn in this one, maybe the slightest nudge of hay. It is surprisingly clean for a Hindi and also has a very resinous quality unlike any other Hindi oil I have tried previously. I get a rather beautiful boozy, leathery and earthy dark chocolate like quality rounded off by slightly charred and smokey nuances. (Imagine opening up an empty charred whiskey barrel) very beautiful MashaAllah.... I will certainly be looking out for future releases from this house. Very traditionally distilled oud oils

ASO - Qandahar III

Just amazing .... when u have the quality wood you really dont have to try hard ... this is surely one of those oils where the wood speaks to you... subtle leather, chocolate, black tea, hay, subtle tamarind for sweetness over the woody tone ...

Holiday in India means I can pamper myself

Second swipe - TajOud M202 Meghalaya

This one is by far my favorite TajOud distillations... I have experienced M198,199, 200, 201, 202 and 203.

Zero soak, zero barn

High dose of black tea and Hay in the opening top notes which mellows down and but still present in mid and base ... get thick caramel chocolate note in the mid as well... the presence of wood from top to base is pretty evident ...

Is there any Oud trading/selling platform where users can trade samples for one another or sell there used samples?

There's one for trainers - why isn't there one for Oud?

Don't like the idea of putting these on Ebay but that's what I had to do...

Absolutely. J1, J7, Laos from there I think they get less mainstream and more a matter of preference. I like most of them but some start out rough on the top.

Are J1 and J7 true Cambodian oud from plantations in Cambodia or are they grown in Trat?

I would assume so but I am in no way affiliated with his company to be able to answer those kind of questions. You can check with him.

Two from Rising Phoenix, one hand - Annona and on the other is Xue Jue - Laos Dragon Blood
Both are fantastic oils that I've not really seen mentioned here. Shame, JK's oils are generally massively slept on, there's some real goods ones there. Only the BK got attention due to its slight controversial nature!

The Annona is Malaysian yet smells Papuan, with a reddy colour to it.
The Laos is great, it's very smooth, no barn - compared to the only other Laos oil that I've tried it's quite tame, but is not quiet. Again a red colour comes to mind, but darker - probably like a scarlet.

I layered a couple of oils....
....without cross contamination.....:Roflmao:

TajOud Imani and Yuzhi Oud #2

Hindi Chinese combo.

Man, these two layered are playing Beautiful Music!

I can’t even tell if it is layered, blended,
or co-distilled.

The #2 is dominating the timid Imani,
so if I adjust the proportions it should get even better. Maybe I’ll blend a ml or two.

One thing I gotta say, is that the aromatic power of the #2 is darn good, and no off notes:Thumbsup:
