Agar Aura - Luang

Opens with green medicinal note and it's a power opening which hits you hard. Later the oils settles in well. Suddenly I draw parallel to Luang's opening with Bhamo's ... this oil has some Burmese DNA or I'm just aw struck by Bhamo... I'm sure Taha was fooled in believing the wood for this oil is Thai... no ways its Thai ... it is 100% Really old HK Sinensis wood... the reason I draw this conclusion is because I have notice similar notes in a vintage piece of wood I bought from Dr Incense and also a few notes were seen in IO's FHI ... the yellow oil Kyara and green oil Kyara notes are pretty evident to my nose but more yellow I think.... I'm really impressed with this oil ... tempted to get a bottle [emoji7]

I wear IO FHI a lot, and I don’t see the comparison here simply because of the defining honey note in FHI, it’s much sweeter. The Luang has too much spice to it for it not be Thai IMO, I’ve also fallen in love with AA Luang and ordered a full bottle. So happy I did! And I’m regards to FHI I have about .8- .9g of it and it’s SOOO strong (tiniest dot from a small paper clip last all day and projects beastly) that I’m thinking I might not need to try to find more of it, especially with my collection growing slowly.

I didnt compare the whole oil to FHI just a specific note if u read bro [emoji4] ...they both seperate oil... may be u right about the honey note which I get in HK sinensis wood ... but Luang is 100% top top oil and a must have

Finally - TigerLust

I have a small EO1 batch one and I have already tried Sultan Leather Attar, Sultan Musk Attar, Iris Noir etc etc

According to me Tigerlust picks up the best from each of Ensar's creations and make this as his best composition till date....

The play between heavy dosage of Iris, frangipani for the florals .... musk elements Ambregis, deer Musk etc all this on a bed of top quality Sandalwood and Oud.

Projection is okay
Longetivity is great

I'm continously taking whiffs of this still ....

How is Sultan Leather compared to Aroha Kyaku?

Earlier...Oud Ehab
This time around I’m really liking it,
I wish the opening would stay the whole way to dry down, very nice and pretty.
(should’ve got a whole bottle:Cautious:)

But right now, trying Ruh Gulab Red by
S M. Ayub M. Yaqub
Nice experience, good smell, but lasts only 1 hour, I got it from a reseller. I immediately compared it to some Turkish rose, and Taif rose....my wife likes the
Taif rose the best. Then I tried some Arabian Oud Taif Rose, it lasts the longest and is sweet, but is either part or wholly synthetic, but I’ll be darn, it smells almost natural, it was given to me as a gift from a seller in Saudi Arabia which I used to buy from, and is way better than another Arabian Oud Taif that I got from a different source.
I just bought some Alteya Bulgarian Rose otto, I can’t wait to try it when it arrives.

Trad from @Rahel at OudBase.
it took me quite a while to really appreciate this oil.
Out of 10, 4 are tropical fruits. 2 are tobacco, 4 are typical 'oudiness'.
projection is decent and lasts more than 6 hours.
I can't tell it's artisanal Trad oil or not since I haven't smelt other Trad oils.
without comparison, it is pretty nice as is but quite not my cup of tea.
I'll re-visit it from time to time to see how my taste changes.

I'm making an effort to use up some samples. I have a ton in general, and many of these are at 0.1ml or less so I'm coaxing out the final bits of oil and setting the sample aside. It's nice to see my collection reducing by doing this and in combination with having sold many oils over the past few months

Anyway....tonight/this evening - Nagaland 3000 by Ensar - a great oil, very non-barn and fruity. Sample may be oxidised as I'm struggling to get much of a profile to this, but I do recall really liking this from previous wearings.

On my other hand is Wilpatu Raja by Imperial Oud - a very high quality Sri Lankan, has similarities to a Sri Pada oil of theirs that I once owned. Oceanic, that 'classic' walla smell 🙂

What do you mean by the oud being oxidised?

Is there a proper way or practice in storing Ouds?

Usually I keep mine in the dark and in Britain we usually have moderate weather - only recently in the summer there have been some heatwaves which have been going on for 2-3 weeks at a time.

Don't really feel to comfortable storing these liquid gold elixers in the fridge either...

I've noticed some samples that I've owned for a year and half+ start to become quite flat and the scent can become hard to pick up on. I've had it with quite a few Agar Aura oils, the oil has hardened/congealed and stuck to the plastic sample it's contained in.

I too live in the UK and store all my ouds behind my couch, away from the heating and with a black cloth draped over the top of them all. I've had no problems with bottles and it's random which samples it's affected. Generally my older AA samples which came in these plastic screw lid bottles are the worst affected.
