SOTD 3 and 4 - All this handwashing is a great excuse to swipe more oil!

ASO Al Kadrie on th eleft, Aasiyah on the right. Now I' think I'm beginning to recognize an ASO signature, something silky and glowing.

Al Kadrie has some of the high-volume freshness of Fajr, with extra smoke and a somewhat darker overall tonality. Aasiya is surely "animalic," showing a not-so-subtle hint of wild furry, slightly skunky, atop a base of subtle sour fruit.

EO Betonamu Senkoh.
I think that sour smell I was picking up earlier with the Suriranka may be what folks call the "medicinal" overtones. Definitely getting more of that here, but it's fading to a less perceptible bitterness.

For anyone feeling DIY, I strongly recommend making a homemade hand sanitizer with alcohol, aloe vera, and...forget tea tree oil, put a couple drops of oud in the bottle. Don't put the oud in until it's bottled, though, otherwise it'll be perfuming your equipment.
Once it's had a couple of days to sit and meld...you'll be the sweetest smelling and the cleanest.

Zaza Zen by EO and vintage sandal from my grand father collections. It’s a dance between oud and sandal. I get whiffs of creamy Mysore sandalwood and then I get mesmerized with Zaza Zen oudiness with fruity top notes. It’s just been 2 hours and loving it.

1st class organic oil from ASO, Fajr is a wonderful and uplifting oud. Very addictive

Super Hoi An amazes me every time. Am I delusional? I’m smelling the top shelf oils in my stash and of course they are all lovely, but none of them hold a candle to this. If I put a big old dollop of the Hoi An it just smells ordinary. But if I put a tiny speck on my neck, or dilute a drop down to less than 1%... All the others just fall away and become a kind of cluster of muddy smelling concoctions. I have samples and whole bottles of oudumentary, oriscent, feel oud, oudline, Ajmal, and others I don’t feel like naming. I enjoy wearing them but not with the same kind of sense of awe that I get with the hoi an. I have some heavy hitters: Borneo 3000, royal kinam, sweet china, China exclusive, oudimentary CFO, oudline km super ateeq, and many $$$$ samples from various vendors. This oil, applied with restraint, may just be the best oil/concentrate that I have ever smelled. Is it really that amazing? Is my olfactory sense weird in some way? have I just missed out on all the really good stuff? I just don’t know what to make of it.

I’ve only worn a couple of times but from first impression it’s very rich but not resinous per say. My novice nose detects fresh minty forest note, almost like an earth grounding woods scent with a hint of mint. And some oceanic aspect to it as well... really shows how much learning I have to do with regions. I can pin point a couple scent profiles that I clearly lean towards and have plenty experience with so that’s a step at least

Day Swipe - EO Oud Sultani'90 Merauke

Sultani is the closest oil I have to OR1 and OR1 is the reason I love the resinous nature of Merauke.

Incensy, green, vintage cause of aging, this wood speaks to you ....

Wonder if we get to see oils of this class anymore....

Minus the aging, I'd say the AA royals are of a stellar class from remarkable materials.
