You know after this release I think my foray in Nagaland, Manipur and Assam are officially covered hahah! I love Hindi’s but my collection is pretty much all Hindi Oud at this point.

Oudbase and Al Hashimi are the next venture on my list! What’s yours friend?
I'm quite unsure yet. there is so much stuff that I wanna try. to name a few, Habz's oud ghazal(because of you 😂), hasna, and JK's southern magnolia attar. I love magnolia!!! Elixir's narcissus bouquet, symphonie de vert exquise, ghaliya rosarie.
well, there's more... 🙄 but I need to smell my newly arrived none other than Sultan Pasha's sample pack first. it will take me months to reach no.30 because I still haven't gathered enough thoughts on no.1, Juriah. 😅

I highly recommend narcissus bouquet. It is a beast. You have to try to see what i mean

Kelantan morning:
Tian Long from LMK on the right
Ghaith from ASO on the left.

Early this morning I was allowed to raid my girlfriend’s mother perfume cabinet: vintage Chanel 5, Gres Cabochard, Gucci Nobile... and a bottle of Guerlain Samsara from 91... back when they still put real Mysore sandalwood in the formula. The whole thing has concentrated into a beautiful sandalwood base with light spice and florals. Smelling GHAITH on my hand against a light backdrop of super sandalwood Samsara is bliss. The LMK Tian Long is as beautiful as always but it blends in with the sweetness and musky wood of Samsara... the GHAITH stands against it with smoky pineapple and black lime. Beautiful combo. Loving ASO samples. One of the best decisions I’ve made in the last year is checking them out. Two thumbs up and Oud bliss.

Pakhang by Tabeer Oud

Had a few tastings now.

Warm incense and black pepper
Kissed by bitter dry woods
Earthen soil and cooling winds
Make way for Pursat berries

Overripe and fermented fruits
Mulled like deep red wine
Carried by Smokey tendrils
Of gently heated wood

Manipur’s untamed wilderness
Sweetened by golden rays
Honeyed leather and citrus rind
Round out a black pepper base

Dried fruits and tobacco
Vaporous and green
Bitter florals and honey
Last throughout the sunset

So far these unfermented Hindi’s all have very bright cheery notes. They feel like daytime and sunshine. Pakhang is darkness but pristine. It’s opening is Hindi without a doubt but the drydown feels very Cambodian. Deep red fruits, tobacco and honey. Very lovely. If you’ve tried Camasa from Ensar the base is very similar.

I love this one! Did you pick up on any of the sweet floral notes? I found it to be fantastic in that regard.

not really! 😅 I need to spend more time with it. I've bought way too many oils in such a short timeframe to give each its due course ...stupid really - and I have more on route!

Today, Habz' Aceh oil (unreleased I believe) just to compare mentally to the IO one - it's a younger oil I believe, doesn't seem as perhaps rounded but I can tell that it will turn into something very good. It's great now - difficult to compare the 2 oils really. They're similar...and yet, aren't. Curious.
@Castingshadows you have this one too, right? The IO seems darker in tone, Habz' one is more vibrants

On my other hand is the first oud oil that I've tried from @Ulugbek Abdumominov (MiskuAmber) -- the Sri Lankan oud. Honestly, at first smell of this from the applicator I was a bit thrown back - seemed very fermented, totally unlike what I'd expect a Sri Lankan oud to smmell like. However, after a swipe - 3 minutes later it really develops and that lovely blue/green, oceanic Sri Lankan profile pops out. In fact, it very quickly goes into what Imperial Oud's "Ceylon Royale' dries down after 2hrs or so - which is this amazing scent profile of heated high quality SL wood - in fact, my benchmark for this is Habz' sinking SL wood...which is one of my favourite smells. Ever.
At $50/ml this is damn good! Not sure on its longevity as I first tried it yesterday then went for a bike ride where I put gloves over the application spot so today I'm testing that, I suppose. 2hrs in and it's still very noticeable

It will be interesting to hear more about misku's oud.
I thought about making a purchase of his fresh 1:1 Musk maceration, then saw the great deal on the Malay oil....then the even better deal on his rose oil.
The wishlist order just keeps getting bigger!

I have an unreleased Habzoud Aceh oil called Aceh Ateeq which has been aged for 5 years apparently. I find it deeper and denser than the IO Aceh though. Could that be the oil you're talking about? Or perhaps Habz has another one lined up as well? I love them both

yea that's the one - whoops. looks like I was wrong about its age then!

I ordered the sandalwood/musk (5:1 ratio) and the rose oil & rose absolute - all are great but I need to try them further. I've taken a swipe of the musk but I need to age it
