TajOud Imani

More honey floral pollen oudy
than tea hay and poop😁
Imani has rounded off beautifully for me too. That powerful chocolate brownie diesel opening has subsided quite substantially now and I'm left with this yummy sweet honeyed goooudness 😉.

Will go a little easy on the application now I'm reaching my last 1ml or so, but wearing the likes of Tura from Lucky Oud is making me less apprehensive of doing so. A sweet, refined Meghalayan that one can enjoy in almost any environment.

Sorry I don't understand.
So you want to wear more of Imani or less of it?

Been on a work trip for a few weeks. I only brought: Ghaith & Nusa from ASO, Al Janah 1 from Habz, Tian Long from LMK and Camasa & People’s Silani from EO. Finished the last of Al Janah today and enjoying the drydown as we speak.

really looking forward to getting home to my Vietnamese ouds tomorrow night. The one Ejayb distilled, as well as Vietnan Special K and Nha Trang Ultima... those are the ones I’ve been dreaming about.

It will be interesting to hear more about misku's oud.
I thought about making a purchase of his fresh 1:1 Musk maceration, then saw the great deal on the Malay oil....then the even better deal on his rose oil.
The wishlist order just keeps getting bigger!
Do not hesitate ordering, you will not be disappointed.
Also try the Jasmine concentrate, liked it very much. And all the things are very fairly priced. I love the Rose abs.

Jalukie from Tabeer Oud.

One of the top no soak Gen X Hindi Ouds(No soak, no barn) I have tried. I have just started exploring his work and have no hesitation calling him a true Artisan.

Jalukie, top notes driven, hay, spicy and honey(mild honey and not a very dense one).

I am a stinky/sweet barn Hindi Oud lover. But this surprised me. It has similarities with high quality Hainan/Guangdon Ouds I have tried.

Not just the oil, I very much appreciate Brother Umair for his humble attitude and hard work, reflect in each drop of these oils.

Today I swiped Oud Sumbawa from Ashworth Oud which was a very sweet linear herbal forestry. It was delicate, not rough, very rounded smell so that was new for me. Loved it but now its not available on Ashworth Oud's website

Continuing to explore ASO samples and finding that less truly is more when discovering these oils. Al Malek al Malaki & Al Malek al Maliyiza... so important to open the sample and sniff just the cracked opening, then pull the dipstick and sniff that. Then just a dot from the end of the stick... a full swipe to my senses is like pinning the needles on a sensitive instrument. It actually smells so much stronger and more identifiable with just a hint of oil touching the skin.

the two oils are quite different from one another but share a deep, dignified character. Not leather and libraries. Not the opera. These both have me imagining the sanctuaries of forgotten cities, black marble archways... something that existed long ago but brings a strong feeling with it. There’s a depth... smelling them is like leaning over a railing and seeing only bottomless cavern. The feeling is stronger than any of the individual notes.

This morning I put a swipe of Imperial Oud's Ceylon sandalwood followed by a decent swipe of Habz' Zamarad 2 (both under my chin) before my morning yoga session - was great! Didn't get much of the sandalwood aroma but the oud was very clear and made for an interesting experience. Very green and bright oil, good stuff.

It's sorta late now and I just put on a new buy - Habz' Maliki from Maluku, Indonesia and a sample I'd bought from Grandawood called Exquisite Lawas, a Malaysian oil. This is interesting, it's super sweet in that Borneo way and not the usual green/black
The Habz is actually a really deep incensy oil, just what the doctor ordered!

Ma’u Xanh La’ today
Well rounded oil that brightens my mood
Makes me think about the next Vietnamese distillation with high expectations.
I don’t have a lot of experience with Vietnamese oils. Is that cream note inherent to the profile of Vietnam or was that something you wanted to coax out? I ask because I’m obsessed with that textural quality along with the vanilla like sweetness.

I’m still over here nerding out on Ghazal by Habz.

The green incense shows itself in the heat and seems to hide in cooler weather. It’s pretty much 100°F every day now so I’m seeing a different side to my collection. Ghazal seems to cut through the sun’s rays and provides a much needed cooling effect.

I was really trying to get that sweet Mellon/cream scent I get from heating Vietnamese chips. I’m happy with the results
