Wearing mahkota side by side with Mahkota?

I have two samples. Strangely one is golden color, the other is greenish emerald colored. Not scent wise. I mean literally they have different colors! Interesting!

My bottle I got 1-2 years ago is much darker than what oud Mogilla has on his Instagram page. Is there a significant difference in scent? I bought mine directly from Taha before it was released.

I got both of mine from Taha. Two separate samples. I’d say that the green one is a bit stronger and the gold was a bit sweeter? But not much different.

@EJayB - viet on right - has turned into such a stellar oil. Really nicely represents that traditional viet profile - but the really early aspects of a chip on the heater before you really crank it up. Where exactly I can't be sure - but this is the smell I associate with hoi Ann region. I'm probably wrong about that tho.... Earthy, brushed suede, dried figs, light creamy incenses

The malay on my left - think a kodo rendition of tigerwood. Has the camphorous, bold, anise, licorice, flavors - with a hint of balsamic cherries as sweetness.

Excited to see what else is in store!

Oh and got to try his blend - it's citrus, cannabis, pine, ambergris (I think) and a bunch of other good stuff. I wore it at the beach all week. Fabulous wafts of crisp aroma mixed with the sea breeze.

I think his style of distillation resembles Taha's. Lots of top and mid notes but not so much of the base/resinous aroma of deep, mystic, woody sweetness which I only get from high grade woods!

That blend is :
Cali-Fresh
100% in house oils utilizing a mix of hydro/ steam / ethanol extraction methods
Even the ethanol was in-house

Went with Al Rub’ II by ASO this morning

this one is possibly the best fermentation I’ve smelled. To my nose it turns into chocolate Kinam that shifts between a gorgeous musky Hainan like ouddyness and a sweet syrupy Hindi.

Now that this dried down I’m putting on Yunnan Imperiale by IO

Yunnan Imperiale has really opened up since I first received it. I get a lot of spicy incense and black ambergris with a syrupy sweetness beneath it all. My nose is back on track with the heavy ferment in Oud. I got a little worried that I lost my tolerance but it’s in full swing again.
