You may be right. Other reasons Could be same distillation technique? Or maybe same location wood is used?

It’s the same region and quality of wood along with expert distillation. I think both of these oils exemplify what a high quality Hindi should smell like.

The main difference to my nose are spices and herbs. Bhramaputra has more hay and less spice with a longer heart before reaching the citrusy/tangy drydown. It’s also considerably more tenacious.

Al Janah 2 smells pretty similar but there’s more spices and an anise-like vibe in the opening. Kinda herbal with almost lavender nuances but it’s so short lived it’s easy to miss it. I found that Al Janah 2 is very quiet but makes up for performance with its depth of scent. The drydown seems to come much quicker though.

Just received Lindaraja and Kakaya!

First off WOW!!! This is my first time trying Al-Hashimi and it won’t be my last.

Lindaraja first impressions:

Super buzzy, crystal clear and medicinal. There’s a lot of ouddyness packed into this one. This is just really pretty all around. I was surprised at how intense the scent is. It’s absolutely top note driven but still it’s intense! The pepper woodsy drydown is amazing. It smells like dry peppery woods. Ugh so good.

Kakaya is as described! JACKFRUIT. WOW.
If you know what jackfruit smells like imagine spiced jackfruit and antique woods soaked in incense. A super creamy facet shows up shortly after. This is such a unique and beautiful oil. I will definitely be buying more. So far for the price bracket these fall into I don’t think I’ve had this much enjoyment from any other oil.

😂 I knew you'd like those! most of Al Hashimi's oils punches above their weight.

You weren’t wrong! Both of these oils are unique and totally different than anything in my collection. I love spicy jackfruit so to smell that profile in an oil is a lot of fun.

I received a sample of Algara with my order and it’s really nice but I’m getting burnt out on the non fermented Hindis.

If there was to be an award for oils in the $65/gram range Lindaraja wins. What an awesome experience.

I’m fortunate my skin loves Oud because I get around 4-5 hours of performance with this baby. Kakaya lasted 12 hours on my skin until I woke up and swiped more Lindaraja on top of it.

Lindaraja is the best deal in Oud hands down.

AA Blue Malay
AA Sik

side by side comparison.

Sik:
Beautiful blue lotus like top notes, petrichor and cooling bitter damp green notes. Sik is really transporting. It evokes pictures of a river in a (rain)forest, early in the morning. You can feel the moist, cold air and you can smell the lotus flowers coated in dew.
It reminds me a little of Blue Malay but Sik is way more “relaxed“ and grounded. Blue Malay has got more of the freezing ultra top note effect and a little more sweet notes reminding me a bit of vanilla and „coke“.

I find these new type of Hindis quite similar, was thinking the same with the Al Hashimi Hawa Jinko that I was wearing today. I've come to accept that my nose isn't nuanced enough to pick up much differences with oud!
But Hindi Oud signature trail is very much present in Kachochang and Brahmaputra, and the legends Hindustan 1 and Shah Jahan, esp the drydown leads to Hindi Oud DNA.

I would love to have this kind of Ouds more and more.
