Have you tried the Kalakassi from Rising Phoenix by any chance?King Kalakassi sits at the top of the kalakassi’s in my opinion. Easily the best oil Prasun has in his repertoire.
My favorite aspects is the creamy vanilla and incense.
How would you describe this oil? Any comparisons to other vietnamese you've tried?Elixir Attar Sultan Qaboos Grade Nha Trang 1994/95. Incense high.
Brother if that’s what you are wearing don’t be shyMaybe never post ootd with my own oils but today
JS Malinau Qi - damn so so happy with this next level malinau
When one considers the almost indecent level of self-promotion and indirect (influencer-ish) shilling of oils that mires our noble obsession 😂, I’d say you are well within your rights to say you like your own creation. And I think most of us would agree that they are strong contenders to excel—blasphemous, I know—even the big names.thx Taesik and Ed , its not about shy or so , but never talk about my own oil cuz maybe people consider its self promoting so no point , i let people who buy them to post 😛
and bro you know you'll never have enough oud 🙂 , atleast for me this never ends in last 10 years 🙁@Mario P. I really have to try your oils one day... I only heard good things about them. 😊
problem is, that I already have more than enough aromatics for the next year. 😂
besides, don't be shy to talk about your oils. we(at least I) won't see it as a promotional post.

Opening is fuzzy and has the unmistakable bitterness (yet sweet, too!) of viet oils - also opens slight terpy almost like a diesel hemp note. Also upfront you'll notice a minty candy camphorous blast too - this isn't so much part of the direct aroma as it is part of the scents overall texture and body (you feel a cooling sensation vs being actually minty). I appreciate that it's unique while remaining an excellent example of Vietnamese agarwood.
For me, Vietnamese oils are essentially the ultimate in agarwood smells - it's the smell that sums up agarwood in one sniff. Whenever I put Vietnamese wood on the burner, it's unmistakable - that bittersweet, creamy, woody, smell. Ve Dap has this in spades.
Dry down is a continuous aroma of Vietnamese agarwood but with all these interesting and changing chords. I smell a different aspect each time. In words, it remains deeply woody and fuzzy (like textured - I've noticed this in musk before), with petigrain, bittersweet/vanilla (not like a malinau vanilla, more like a safrole/ autumn spices.
Basically a great tier 1 Viet oil that I'm so excited to put away bc I think it will only get better. Support your local distiller 🙂
Much gratitude to @EJayB for really doing the dang thang - pumped to try more of his oils in the future!
