Habzoud Alhind Dhahab

I love smelling this from the cap, almost daily.

For today…swipe! Nice feel with viscosity.
The vapor blast is already settling down, a bit of cream instantly, then a candy sweet appeal. A fizzy vibe, that I hope more aging should smoothen out. I’m reminded of Ajmal Millenium. Nagaland profile indeed, very enjoyable all the way to drydown.

Kinabalu Gold - @AlHind Oud

I've owned this oil for nearly 3 years, and this is the first time I'm wearing it. I don't know why, but it's never felt like the right time. I open the bottle constantly, take a smell from the bottle and get hit with a pristine, heavenly, euphoric aroma.

But, each time, it's as if God is reaching for my hand to take me to heaven... I say, "No, the time's not right". And put the bottle away.

Well, tonight, I have finally ascended to heaven.

Fushigi Hainan - sometimes it smells very amazing and sometimes not so much

overall it’s a nice oil but something is missing and I can’t put my nose (metaphorical finger) on it

Nagaland Oud Oil - via OudEssence

Bought this at the Oud event in Germany yesterday. Kicking myself for not buying more.

Unashamed barnyard opening, drying down beautifully to leather and jammy apricots, with a nice whiff of volatile-ish acidity keeping things lifted and lively.

The more oud I try, the more I feel like I prefer this profile to a lot of the high-end, expensive stuff. 😅

Hi Salam Ouddicts ^^

Today I swiped :
Habz Malinau Maliki
Imperial Oud Hainan Ultima

The opening of Malinau Maliki is phenomenal! I am addicted to the very firsts notes of almond chestnut vanilla powdery cookie nougatine with fizzy petroleum notes !
I can see clearly the comparison with Borneo 3000 … but to my nose it is even more complex with a splendid evolving !
It remind me lightly TOL Borneo Kin wish I loved a lot …
Still fresh but already something deeply special !
My favorite oil at the moment I literally fell in love with this oil !

IO Hainan Ultima is the most unusual Hainan I’ve ever smelled so far …
Maybe because the other ones are young oils …
In Hainan Ultima I can noticing similarities with NTU … I can’t say where but I am sure they sharing something…
this oil is absolutely amazing ! I find it better than the Hainan Fushigi which is also beautiful in a bitter Oriscent way …

I wish you all a very Gooud swipe 🙂

I must have walked into "Hindi Oud of the Day" but on my side,

Faizal Privee - SQ Hindi 1990's (Manipur) - I recently added some "bloomed" Mongolian musk grains to one of my quarter tola bottles and like some new macerations I've made in the past, it started to bubble and overflow a bit. This wasn't an issue as it meant I'd be wearing this for the next little while.

Originally this oil had the scent of savory spices, think star anise, and black tea. It was beautiful but I was craving something with a stronger leather oomph to it. In a larger quantity (relatively speaking) Siberian grains were able to accomplish this, and I thought as I love this region's musk more, why not give it a shot! It's been a couple of weeks but a subtle change is already detectable. It's probably way less than 0.1 g of musk that's been used, and now I have a nostalgic scent, which I can't stay I knew what it was at the time, but it's as near to the scent as I've yet smelled. It's also wonderful on clothes, like the late dry down is something else entirely!

wow 3 years, what made you resist it for so long?!

Kravahn Dreams from @Adweeya Mufriha / Scentient Nature. Apparently this dark rich oil hails from Pursat. It has some incense-like richness that is akin to that of Prachin oils in some ways. This has that dark heavy richness of traditional distillations but it comes through purely oudy. No sense of any accessory notes or rough treatment. Very dignified, masculine, robust aroma, almost with a sense of fine tobacco - if I had a bunch of this I would wear it regularly - I like these dark rich incense heavy ouds!

It used to be right here but now that he’s banned you’ll have to go to his Etsy site. Just type in rising Phoenix perfumery and it’ll show up. JK is one of the coolest vendors that used to be on here.
what a glazer your posts are 80% about him. Might as well join him… in the banned section 😂

I just want to ask a quick question here. I'm not trying to stir anything up or even have a conversation about it as it seems we've all agreed to not engage in the topic publicly ( enough has been said already). I completely respect and agree with the decision to ban Rising Phoenix here and on the exchange group which also extends to the reselling of his products. I have no issues with this. My question is can we still comfortably talk about his oils as an example on OOTD? I would hope that his behaviour wasn't a reflection on the oils themselves, purely in the capacity of evaluating them, not promoting them.

It's worth asking I think. Always interested in hearing somebody's honest review about a product regardless of origin, anything you would be inclined to write for example, Olfactory Nomad, based on my experience of your participation here.

A hypothetical individual benefiting from what is offered here while simultaneously undermining the wishes of the site owner... sounds like somebody needs to "be a better person" as one of my daughter's favorite teachers apparently used to suggest to students who had difficulty following directions.

It's probably better to let a couple of these hypothetical shills get away with it than to disrupt the natural conversation among those who are just trying to share what's in their collection. This is where site moderation becomes important I imagine otherwise it starts to take up energy from the discussion boards
