EO Bhutan Red

I had never tried any Bhutanese oils before this, so as soon as I saw it being offered on the EO website, I bought a bottle. So glad that I did. This one seems to be borrowing from the nearby regions, much like many Burmese Ouds, here I get mainly Hindi, Chinese (Yunnan), and although further downs South from Bhutan, maybe some Crassna-like qualities that you get in some Thai/Cambodi oils. I think the Crassna-like profile is more like an illusion to my nose, as it's not really fruity-like. I did some research and apparently, some have described this as the Muana accord (rooibos tea, milk, vanilla, honey, cinnamon). I think that makes me think of something tracing to Crassna profile. The Muana accord is strong, definitely, the hallmark of this oil, followed by a Hindi-like profile, with some leather, barn, and hay, but not overly so, just perfectly placed, and I also sense some petrichor-wet soil facets, which are really toned-down, and I kinda wish they were more amped up. Overall, a very complex oil, very deep and dense, and a very successful purchase.

It's aging since 2009 nice 👍

JS Royal Viet
JS Cambodi Essenza
both real nice

the royal viet is doing something interesting where the sweet fruit note keeps changing to my nose - pineapple then plum then cherry then melon, can't pin it down.

got a load of samples purchased from @SamiterkiW to try to learn the ropes.
Good for you for getting the samples from @SamiterkiW
it is most likely the best way to go forward in this passion.......and a good price too...
Enjoy them all.....🙂

That Cambodi Essenza is like vanilla cream cranked to 11/10 next level beauty. The vaporous vanillic tonka beans that come from it is like drug.

Hello dear Ouddicts 🙂
I hope you are well ^^

Today I swiped :
AA King K Nam
JS Royal Mamberamo
TOL Silani OG

These three oils are the best I smelled in their own region !!!
Just wow !

The Vanillic Almondish aspect of KKN is unbelievable, the effect of this oil it really close to The Kyara effect !

Royal Mamberamo got the best bitterness, saltiness I smelled in an oil !
Mango peel with something very addicting ! Swipe during Cold weather is the best bet!

Silani OG is really crazy !
I get an intense dose of cannabis terpenoids opening !!! Intoxicating woodiness ! And then falling in a calming Borneo vibe like Borneo 3k , dry woods, vanilla, golden vetiver vibe !

Strong oils with very good longevity !

I wish you a Gooud swipe brothers 🙂

I also get crassna like Berry vibes during the drydown, so its probably not your imagination.

Took a swipe myself about an hour ago! Growing on me big time. Super fresh when I first received it. Maybe a month old. Full bodied, almost Smells like fresh cut grass. You picking up on that same note?
yes, exactly, it and yes it's definitely got that vibe. Cool, he's (Ali) been around behind the scenes a while, good to see others enjoying his oils.

I tried too many ouds to talk about today. Just dove into the deep end. But I will note the most surprising oud I tried:

Jinkoh Store - Royal Merauke - this has the most intense mango scent I've ever smelled (including from mangoes). It is so tart and tropical, then backed by something real earthy (which I've come to expect from Papua area stuff) that could maybe be described as mulch, moss, clove, rum, black pepper. There is just so much going on.

Ouds really capture the absurd fecundity of the jungle. As Werner Herzog once said (while filming in the Amazon, imagine his thick Bavarian accent): "The jungle...is fornication."
