Tonight I'm enjoying Malik al taif by ALD.
Jammy rose and petrol like oud/animalics. It's close to triad by bortnikoff, except less petrol note. The animalics oud and musk almost burn my nose a bit lol. The rose oil is very high concentration. Very high quality perfume. The drydown is otherworldly.

It could be the combined power of the deer musk and Hindi oud. Very strong on my skin. My first time wearing it too lol. It’s very leathery and saffron very good in it. My nose needs more time to understand it lol. I could be misunderstanding it as I’m not quite used to it’s heaviness

Old school rolling fire, but with perfumey detail in top notes and a good lick of fruit in the centre. This is bright for a firey oud and it hits hard. Over time the spice picks up nostalgic nuances of antique wood. Really nice stuff!

I feel like layering Java Arch with some New Gen Vietnamese to try and capture some of Al Ruba’ie’s likeness.
Yeah I find this a bit smooth by itself. But that can work out well for layering. I wore it with a touch of Al Shareef's Taif rose the other day and it was a really good combo.
