Dudeeeeee. Port Moresby is the king of greens. Easily along with kynam emerald and papua is the trio of greatest green oils I have ever tried. Lucky you. How much do u have?Port Moresby. First wear today. I'll have to do a direct comparison, but PM reminded me of Borneo Kinam. Beautiful oil, very nicely balanced dark incense with smooth sweet wood
Welcome back! Almost every now and then I look for any new post from you. And now here you are 🙂Guess who is back!
Hope this note finds you new and old timers well.
I had stopped buying oils a while back. Iirc Ertugrul gazi was my last purchase. So didn’t see a point in my contributions. Also to save dollars for RL I didn’t want further temptation from all you naughty gals and guys.
Further, I found myself for a good 6 months or so to not showing any real draw or pull from any of my oils. My head space was else where. I was and still am heating wood (lesser so) and burn incense (a lot more than ever) but only recently I started feel that child like thrill and the excitement of early days in oud.
Oud of yesterday morning was sultan Abdul hamit. A ng/borneo co distill from ensar but the smoky kind. Like a pleated whiskey. Not overtly so like aroha or oud duhl but a very nice integrated smoke. Thnx to the old legend “behanny” for sharing a bit of this jewel with me back in I don’t know 2018?
Oud of last night was nirvata muana. Man I just loooooove that gently sweetened honeybush tea note with gentle ginger cookie note. So gourmand. So tasty. So comforting. There is a live oudy oud spine in this oil that keeps the profile away from becoming cloying or sweet. I have loved this oil since day one. Luckily many many other oils come close to this profile and when the itch comes they can scratch it. Naga3k, Royal imphal, Royal muana…
Todays wear started in the morning with the original rubaie from ASO. A wicked oil. The opening I struggle with a bit as it has that twangy sour fermented note and some animal profile but in about 20 minutes it settles into a clean and unique profile. Kinam/vietnam portion is not really smelled but it’s felt. Hard to explain. A must try for you to know what I mean. Respectfully the version two while similar, doesn’t cut it for me. I tried it towards the drydown of the Og and it didn’t really do anything for me.
Now that I am winding down and off to bed, I am going for mahkota from AA. That cola note and psychedelic like purple floral note is off the charts. The oils top notes vibrate. The heart is fat and full. Too early in the wear to see where the drydown goes but I am loving the pristine crystalline profile thus far. Linear compared to other distillers but focused and elegant. Delish.
Thank you friend. I appreciate the note. I doubt I’ll be as active but will try to be poking my head in time to time. Happy to begin your company.Welcome back! Almost every now and then I look for any new post from you. And now here you are 🙂
Glad to see u again
Now, beleive it or not, I never had the pleasure to try this legend. Luckily I know a guy now 😉Kyara de Kalbar today, have worn it a few times and only today was struck with a beautiful incense note, where before it was only bright/woody Borneo
@Renzo C Oooooof. My sultan ahmet has been finished for years. It was one heck of a sultan. Iirc it was SS distilled. Brunei ng co distill iirc. Bring ur ahmet and I’ll introduce you to the oil that started it all: beyazit. Insert droooool emoji here.Sultan Ahmet, Taha said this was his favourite oil and I can see why.
A slight barn note in the opening, about 5-10 minutes. Gradually the PNG/Brunei profiles emerge, blue and green, creamy and also fresh. Stunning!
Sounds awesome. Gotta track me down soem of this. Any tips?.........Today.......GRAND EMPEROR OF VIETNAM from JINKOH STORE..........I put a tiny dot literally on my wrist and took a whiff.......................................for the past two years I have been hearing kinam this, kinam that, kinamic this , kinamic that, kyara this, kyara that..........G T F O O H!!!
This oil, if Marius told me that it was distilled with 50% wild Vietnamese kinam and 50% agarwood I would believe him 100000%
THIS OIL SMELLS LIKE YOU ARE HEATING SOME HIGH END INCENSE GRADE VIETNAMESE WOOD ON LOW THAT HAS FILLED THE AIR AND ALSO A JAR OF WILD VIETNAMESE WHITE AND GREEN KINAM THAT YOU HAVE YOUR NOSE INSIDE OF THE JAR AND THE KINAM AROMA IS BEING MIXED IN WITH THE AGARWOOD HEATING IN THE BACK BUT THE KINAM AROMA IS DOMINATING. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED! EVER SINCE I ADDED THIS DOT THAT WAS ABOUT 3MM IN DIAMETER AND SMEARED IT THE AROMA HAS CREATED LIKE A BUBBLE AROUND MY WHOLE BODY I SMELL IT IN THE AIR I N S A N E P R O J E C T I O N!
I remember Taha said something about Ensar "I dont know why anyone bothers making oils when you are creating oils like this", or something like that.....Now I am sure many distillers who smell this oil will wonder the same especially if they are very familiar with kinam. I hate to sound like this and be comparing and no disrespect to anyone here making oils as I know for a fact everyone has great oils but I never been this mindfooked about an oil and well this is the FIRST time I actually feel like an oil smells like kinam. I will probably try and come back with another review but honestly there is no doing justice trying to talk about how kinam smells or how this oil smells.
Extremely grateful to have this oil! AMAZING!!!
If you had to go for one of the grand emperors I much prefer grand emperor of hainan. If you can manage both, they complement each other like crazy. I think @Renzo C may decant you a bit 😉Sounds awesome. Gotta track me down soem of this. Any tips?
Ah…this should be fun 😉Now, beleive it or not, I never had the pleasure to try this legend. Luckily I know a guy now 😉
ah I’ve just sold my sample, but it was only the tiniest drop, just enough to sample 3-4 times. I’ll be very glad to become acquainted with Beyazit though…@Renzo C Oooooof. It is indeed extremely refined. It is to green what a rich burgundy is to red…so elegant and classy. I’ve only got a sample drop, but may have to jump on a slightly larger sample in the future (I limit myself to 0.3gr or less of any oil to keep costs relatively low!)Dudeeeeee. What I love about port M more than other green oils is it’s maturity. It’s a very balanced oil like a refined older gentleman without anything to prove. Understated even like Armani.
heeeyyy maaaan welcomeee backk...miss your post brother :* :*Guess who is back!

I find this one with a Borneo twist 🙂Habzoud - Taj Mahal
Any time I'm having a bad day I like to go with a nice creamy Hindi oil. They just make everything better and this one is no exception.
