Yessssssss. Happy you are experiencing this oil similarly to how I see did. The purity of it brings one almost to tears. It doesn’t have the dry down of Royal malinau og version or malaya but when the tops notes and heart is that beautiful, it’s easy to still feel fully satisfied.AA Royal Maluku. Like I said earlier, I feel stupid trying to express these very special experiences in words. Just beautiful is all I would say. One must experience these.
The opening is so special, the heart true to the region. Unlike others, the fizz stays quite long. Yet to explore the dry down. I think I like
@Rasoul Salehi Welcome back and thanks for encouraging me to try this one.
Thnx buddy. Good to have see u here too. I was thinking of u actually. I wore the vintage vetiver cologne decant from you earlier. As much as I love oud, sometimes perfumes hit differently.Welcome back Rasoul, so nice to see you posting again 🙂
Ooooof. Both great. Bahadur I recall had a drier and more high mountain feel of a naga oil but still distinctly Naga.heeeyyy maaaan welcomeee backk...miss your post brother :* :*

Damnnnnnn. Look at you go. Papuya is a monster. Three headed tiger. Remarkably potent. My only issue with it at times is that it’s almost too powerful in projection. But what a complete oil. Three distinct stages of top heart and base. Each carrying different set of aromatics at each stage.Oriscent Papuya 2007

The legend is back 👏 welcome brother, the oud community definitely missed you.Guess who is back!
Hope this note finds you new and old timers well.
I had stopped buying oils a while back. Iirc Ertugrul gazi was my last purchase. So didn’t see a point in my contributions. Also to save dollars for RL I didn’t want further temptation from all you naughty gals and guys.
Further, I found myself for a good 6 months or so to not showing any real draw or pull from any of my oils. My head space was else where. I was and still am heating wood (lesser so) and burn incense (a lot more than ever) but only recently I started feel that child like thrill and the excitement of early days in oud.
Oud of yesterday morning was sultan Abdul hamit. A ng/borneo co distill from ensar but the smoky kind. Like a pleated whiskey. Not overtly so like aroha or oud duhl but a very nice integrated smoke. Thnx to the old legend “behanny” for sharing a bit of this jewel with me back in I don’t know 2018?
Oud of last night was nirvata muana. Man I just loooooove that gently sweetened honeybush tea note with gentle ginger cookie note. So gourmand. So tasty. So comforting. There is a live oudy oud spine in this oil that keeps the profile away from becoming cloying or sweet. I have loved this oil since day one. Luckily many many other oils come close to this profile and when the itch comes they can scratch it. Naga3k, Royal imphal, Royal muana…
Todays wear started in the morning with the original rubaie from ASO. A wicked oil. The opening I struggle with a bit as it has that twangy sour fermented note and some animal profile but in about 20 minutes it settles into a clean and unique profile. Kinam/vietnam portion is not really smelled but it’s felt. Hard to explain. A must try for you to know what I mean. Respectfully the version two while similar, doesn’t cut it for me. I tried it towards the drydown of the Og and it didn’t really do anything for me.
Now that I am winding down and off to bed, I am going for mahkota from AA. That cola note and psychedelic like purple floral note is off the charts. The oils top notes vibrate. The heart is fat and full. Too early in the wear to see where the drydown goes but I am loving the pristine crystalline profile thus far. Linear compared to other distillers but focused and elegant. Delish.

Having some of the wood that this oil was made from really helps in my appreciation of this oil. It has all the notes of the wood but thru alchemy some totally new and unexpected profile too. That oriscent bitter medicinal vibe that is as if some top grade true old stock vietnam sinesis was thrown in the batch.
Regardless papuya is in my top 3 green oil pick.
i do have it and agree 100% to what you said.Tonight’s wear: Ertugrul gazi
Going off memory this is a pattani based oil (south Thai/north malay. Not crassna but malecansis. ) then has some maroke, brunei, ng and something else.
That unique blue of brunei kinam is clearly seen here. Loosely the blue part of crude oil scent. But in a much better way and in an elegant way. Brunei Nirvana wood and some other rare batches of brunei have this note too while many many other brunei woods or ones sold as such don’t have this note at all. The deep green of the south comes in latter stages. The pattani profile at first comes across as north malay: green but different green than png is mixed with gentle cola nut, but as the oil progresses pattani profile goes more Thai: gentle cinnamon but more so cardamom laced dried fruit. Apricots and papaya?
One heck of a complex oil. Horizontally and vertically. For the interest of newer to oud fans I am referring to horizontal as: at a given time many many distinct aromatics are smelled. Vertical: the changes of the aromas as the oil sits on the skin and progresses toward dry down.
Anyone else here has this oil?
No idea about your query. But in case you don't know, just decant the entire content from the bottle to some traditional bottle or something else. These crystal bottles ruin oils after reacting with the electroplated metal section of the cap and mouth area*. The glue used in the inner section of the cap will also adversely affect the content.I have just received my Saif al Hind bottle. It is 2021 production, I dont know if this oil changes from batch to batch, but I was expecting a louder, more piercing profile. My first impression is I detect zero funk here. What I smell is a slightly fermented Indian oud with almost chocolate like sweetness. It become subtle within an hour, but starts to project again quickly with smoky, semi-sweet qualities. It easily stays on skin 7-8 hours. I think I need more time to explore this, but overall happy with my purchase. Any experiences with the batches after 2020?
