i call it mystical dragon ;p
papuya 2007 one my my most favorites i have buttt its not for everyone, i swiped it to many relatives and when they smell its like them get black out and..."don't like it" 🤣

i do have it and agree 100% to what you said.
Agreed. Papuya is not for everyone. Indeed it’s too much of an oil for most. And guess what, jayapula is even less friendly to most but what a heart. Unreal depth.

Mr.Boltons Royal Mekong reserve 1
It smells like a cross between brunie and sweet thai. Amazing longevity as well.
Sadly any and all ouds from the late great generous mr Bolton I have, without expection, all reek of a strong amonia/ stale urinal scent. So much so that virtually impossible for me to read the oil behind that note. Glad to see some other oils are clean and showing the telltale aromas of their origin.

A new merauke: this has to be my favourite oud oil to date. The versatility of this oil, combined with its awesome aroma, make its an everyday wear for me. Notes of melons, smoke, liquor, tobacco and tea.

JS Royal Merauke
Habz Jaya Qadeem

I had thought I detected a similar tart fruit note in these based on memory. Side by side they are so different it is ridiculous to even compare them. Maybe they have a note in common somewhere that triggered my memory of the first when I tried the second, but I'm not picking it up now. Side by side, Merauke still seems dark fruit and molasses driven to me (with an oceanic saltiness maybe?) but Jaya Qadeem is very earthy and dark, old wood, the tartness I thought I smelled initially is not really there this time.

Oud is good!
I spent last evening with Eau du Vietnam from La Maison du Khenata, enjoying this morning Kalimantan from Agarwood Indonesia.
Such a good oil.
Today I'm wearing a wild Pailain oud from Mellifluence - free sample he sent to me a while back. Very good, fruity but not boring at all
Yesterday I wore his wild Vietnamese oil which is out of this world- I wanted to buy 1g but it was quite costly (at the time - have since bought more expensive oils!). A really sweet, resinous smell that was super enthralling

Salaams Brother Habzoud I hope your well? I was recommended by some brothers towards your brand.

Some 7 years back I received some sample from a company called imperial oud and really appreciated the sample. I was a student back then, so I avoided expensive purchases as I was new to oud and more so the company was new. However years later now the smell has changed but they are no where to be seen.

Round about the same time I had the opportunity to meet Ensar oud, I thought I would be encountering a saint. I went with the intention of seeing his Oud yusuf. I found the scent to be heavenly, but on the other hand was shocked by his behavior. He came across arrogant and belittling, I found it peculiar that a person walking the so called the Sufi path had a code of conduct contrary to the Sufi attitude, that the brand represented. There was no humility in his sense of speech nor was there any empathy.

All I saw was a shrewd capitalist and for this very reason I was reluctant to buy even a sample.

So I reach out to you hoping that you have something similar to oud Yusuf.

Thanks for reaching out, sadly imperial oud have stopped trading, sad as they were very good brothers and had some real nice oils. Oud Yusuf is a sweet creamy fruity thai, a nice friendly Oud. Drop me a PM and ill see if i can be of any help 🙂
